As we transition into spring, Vermont Natural Homes will be busy with an exciting speaking schedule.
On March 26, Chad will present to his peer members of the Building Science Guild, a subgroup of the Sustainable Energy Outreach Network (SEON) in Brattleboro, Vermont. This presentation will include a brief history of straw bale construction, current best practices, and an overview of some of the research that has been done regarding fire, moisture, structure, and thermal performance of natural buildings. On March 31, he is giving a similar talk to Advanced Sustainable Design and Building Science students at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. On April 26, we will be packing up our hand tools and mock-ups and samples, and heading to the Cape Cod Mini Maker Faire at Cape Cod Community College. We are excited about this opportunity to share natural building with a great community at a great family-friendly event. Keep an eye out for announcements about more upcoming talks. Wishing all a Happy Spring!
